NECİP MİRKELAMOĞLU

He was born in Birecik district of Şanlıurfa in 1922. He graduated from primary school in Birecik, secondary school in Adana and Male High School in İzmir. He completed his higher education at Istanbul University Faculty of Economics. He became the last president of the Izmir Community Center.

He continued his writing career, which he started by writing and publishing magazines in Istanbul in 1945, with columns and political series in various media organs.

He entered political life in 1946. He took responsibility at every level from the CHP's quarry organization to the provincial administration in Izmir. He entered the Turkish Grand National Assembly in 1961 as a deputy for İzmir. He was a member and spokesman of the Budget and Planning Commission. In 1968, he was elected as a member of the Republic Senate from Izmir. He was in the Administrative Office of the Senate of the Republic. He continued his duty in the Turkish Grand National Assembly as the Deputy Chairman until 1977.

His poems, literary and political works and series of articles have been published.

His interest in Turkish music began with his enthusiasm for folk music. His father's familiarity with music provided a source for the expansion of his interest in music. He benefited from this musical environment with all his siblings.

He started his musical life by playing baglama. He took tanbur lessons from the famous composer Selahaddin Pınar; He benefited from Rakım Elkutlu and other master teachers.

He started composing during his university years. He had a break from his work after his first compositions. When he came to Ankara due to his political life, he saw the encouragement and support of the late oud player and lawyer Halil Aksoy. He resumed his composition work. He has about a hundred compositions, the lyrics of which he wrote himself. He passed away on December 21, 2010 in Izmir.

Most of his works are in the TRT repertoire.
